for Janice: there is almost no Guinness left on the onion rings themselves after all the other coating and then the baking. it will leave a bit of taste, but really no alcohol to worry about. miniscule amount. I would not make the “gravy” if you’re worried about Guinness taste.

Mmm, this looks so yummy! I want to make this this weekend on my beach picnic with friends but have one (maybe dumb) question: will it taste distinctly guinness-y? Will the baking process cook off most of the alcohol?
