Aaah, ma'amoul. I love this stuff! My parents are both Syrian and my grandma taught me how to make these cookies. When we make it, we make enough for 30+ people and give to all of our friends. Of course, we would always save a huge tin for ourselves to munch on for the next week or so. This brings back great memories about delicious Syrian foods and afternoons spent in my grandma's kitchen. Thanks for the great post!

I really love that you featured an exotic recipe. I bought myself a nice big pack of dates a couple days ago as they are now on sale. Also, that method of using a wooden mould is so familiar. Some traditional desserts and cookies here in Malaysia are also made like that. I should really try it out myself.
