I have been putting together a few easy recipes for the coming holidays. This year we are off in our new but small camper van, I tried out your great sandwiches with ham, a blend of white and red cheeses that melt into a nice thin mix like they use in the best burger bars and pepper n tomatoes coursly chopped.

I’m making these again tonight–this’ll be the third time! I also tried a “Philly Cheese Steak” version, which was fantastic; I modified the sauce with less sugar and more Worcestershire and mustard, and added sauteed green peppers. I’m sure I’ll think of more variations. What I particularly appreciated this time of year is that even though I have to use the oven, it’s only for a few minutes–not long enough to overheat the kitchen!

These are amazing! I made a full sized version (with a hamburger bun and cut the sauce recipe in half) on my lunch break. Perfect!

First, I LOVE your measuring spoons…can you share where I can get some? Second, I will be making these this week. I had seen a very similar recipe recently (although your sauce will put it over the top) that also had carmelized onions in the bun with the ham and cheese. Another thing that was a good idea was to use the whole package of the King Hawaian buns but to keep them together (just lift the entire top off the whole package) and bake them, THEN split them into individual sliders. I bet that would help keep all your delicious sauce on the buns!

Nice to see this recipe making the rounds again. I made it for my daughter’s christening 20 years ago, and the recipe had been around for awhile back then. It’s a real crowd pleaser, and especially nice because it can be made ahead.

Thanks! Maybe an old recipe to others, but its new to me and its a keeper! These were great and I guess for those of us who aren’t “chefs” and for some who are, any recipe may be new. Thanks for the recipe. These were a hit and I will serve them again!:)
