I made this last night to bring to work today and I was hesitant that it would only take 5 minutes to make. It took me about 10 minutes but only because my 2 year old was helping. It was a huge hit at work. Even my son ate some and loved it! Thanks for the great recipe.

i'm not a fan of the feta... any suggestions for a substitute? is it a texture thing or strictly taste? If it's based on taste yum yum yum I am going to try so many different pairings! But, I hate the texture of feta...

I made this this past week-end. It is very flavorful and a great color! I did not use all of the red pepper called for in the recipe, and it was plenty spicy. I think the amount called for is a typo.

Made this yesterday and it is as advertised, except the advice about thinning it a bit with the liquid from the beans is good. Also, it makes a huge amount, so if you only need enough for one tray of pita, you might want to halve it. Friends last night suggested frying it up to make falafel, might try that sometime too!

Everyone thought it was guac, though, and the looks on people's faces when it wasn't (who serves guac with pita?! :)) was priceless. :)

I made this today...is 2 TABLESPOONS of crushed red pepper correct? I made this using 1 T, and thought it was PLENTY spicy. I'm so glad that I didn't add the 2nd tablespoon, or it would've been too hot for my kiddos to eat. I would actually even use less than that next time. Very good, though--and pretty too!

By the way, if you don't have tahini on hand, I wouldn't worry too much about it. This recipe is perfect without -- I don't think you'll miss it a bit. Maybe just add a tad more lemon juice. (I used juice of 2 1/2 lemons in my batch.)
