Wow these sound really fantastic! I make a version of this with asparagus, goat cheese, and honey that is seriously delicious (see my blog to get recipe!). I can't get enough of that tangy cheese flavor, and sweet honey so I bet these are just amazing.

I made this tonight - it was fabulous! I substituted apples for the pears - didn't realize the pears I picked up this weekend had gone bad...still delicious! Definitely making this for a side at Thanksgiving.

Can you provide an estimate of how much pear was used for this recipe? I've just peeled, cored, and chopped about 10 cups of sand pears from my yard and would love to try this out with some of them! Thanks!

@becca60: Ohhhh, my dear, this place is a treasure trove of good recipes! I'm a much better--and braver!--cook now, for having tried many things I would never have thought to. Hang around, I predict you'll love this place.

How to find time to cook when working full time? Well, there's week night meals and there's week end meals, for starters. :) I'm only cooking for hubby and myself now, so I'm sure it's easier than y'all with families. But the most critical things are: 1. Plan well, shop to the plan, and keep a good pantry. 2. Be clever with leftovers, which gets a lot of the main cooking out of the way (for example, I'll cook a pork tenderloin and get 2 or 3 meals out of it). 3. Every meal doesn't have to be spectacular--nothing wrong with quick and simple, as long as it's nutricious and appealing. 4. Finally, look at a *lot* of recipes; you won't try them all, but they will help so much to spark your imagination and enable you to freshen up old recipes you've grown tired of.
