Description

Strawberry Basil Lemonade made with farmers market strawberries, basil, and freshly squeezed lemon juice! The perfect drink for spring!

Ingredients

  • 10 whole Lemons
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 4 cups Water
  • 10 whole Strawberries, Cleaned And Hulled
  • ⅓ cups Fresh Basil
  • ½ cups Vodka (optional)

Preparation

Juice the lemons and transfer the juice into a large pitcher. Add the sugar and the water and stir to combine and dissolve the sugar. Add the strawberries and basil. Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture for about 20 seconds, just until the mixture turns pink and the basil is finely chopped. Add alcohol if desired. Serve with lots of crushed ice and go sit out by the pool and enjoy!

Very good – very refreshing – great combination of tastes! (And I had the non-alcoholic version, too – I’m guessing I’d like it even better with the vodka!)

Tried it this morning and it was delicious!!! Unfortunately was out of vodka so tried it just plain, but will definitely try the alcoholic version next time!

Made this for a girl’s luncheon I’m having tomorrow and of course, had to try it! It was great! I LOVE basil and it mixes surprisingly well with strawberries.
