Description

This White Chocolate Mix is the perfect snack food or a light dessert! It is easy to grab and take on the go when your on the road or need something quick to satisfy a sweet tooth. The recipe isn’t all that complex but the finished product is heavenly. I make a huge batch of this and put it in ziplock bags and store them in the freezer for when my sweet tooth strikes!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Cheerios
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex
  • 1 cup Pretzel Sticks
  • 3 cups White M&Ms
  • 24 ounces, weight White Chocolate

Preparation

In a large bowl (or wok, or giant tupperware), combine the Cheerios, Chex, pretzels and m&ms. Mix them up a bit, making sure that everything is evenly distributed.

Meanwhile, over a double boiler, melt the white chocolate according to the directions on the package. Once the chocolate has melted and is a smooth consistency, drizzle the chocolate over the cereal mix and combine with a wooden spoon. Note: make sure to coat all the cereal with chocolate! If you need to melt extra white chocolate to cover all the mix, then go right ahead!

Once the entire batch has been combined, lay it out to dry on a large sheet of parchment or waxed paper. Let dry for 4 hours (or just long enough for the chocolate to harden and for you to take a few small nibbles). Serve immediately or package it up into large Ziploc bags and store in the freezer.

I made a batch just before Christmas and loved it! I was going to leave out the pretzels, but it adds just the right amount of salty to the yummy sweetness! I froze half of the batch and just this week pulled it out of the freezer. It was as if I had just made it. I took it to work, and it was a big hit there, too! I will be making this for years to come.

This is amazingly delicious! I made a half batch and my husband keeps dipping into it, so I may need to make another batch tomorrow. :) It is easy to make and really tasty.

I didn’t have M&Ms so I actually left those out entirely, using just the pretzels, Chex cereals and Cheerios. We don’t miss the M&Ms…the mix is sweet enough as it is, actually really a perfect mixture of salty and sweet. Thanks for this recipe!

Yummy! My 4 year old and I made this for Christmas gifts and they look as good as they taste. I went to three different stores and couldn’t find white m&ms and no one seemed to have heard of them. We used white chocolate chips instead and while they probably weren’t as cute they were good. 24 ounces of chocolate was PLENTY for us to cover all the cereal. Yum!
