Description

Melt in your mouth hors d’oeuvre. Gooey, cheesy, what more could you want?

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 2 bulbs Shallots, Finely Chopped
  • Olive Oil
  • 12 ounces, fluid Mushrooms (shiitake And/or Portobello Work Well)
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • ½ cups White Wine (or A Water/vinegar Solution)
  • ½ cups Cream
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Mixed Fresh Herbs (chives, Basil, Etc.)
  • 4 ounces, fluid Blue Cheese, Crumbled

Preparation

Slice loaf, drizzle slices with olive oil and toast.

Sauté shallots in 2 Tbs. olive oil for two minutes until softened, but not colored.

Add mushrooms, season and sauté for 2-3 minutes until tender.

Pour in wine and allow to bubble down until reduced by half.

Stir in cream and herbs.

Cook for a few minutes, stir in cheese and cook until melted.

Spoon over toasted bread slices.
Enjoy!
