In a small bowl, add turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt. Mix well with a fork.
Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat. Then add mustard seeds. When they start to pop and splutter, add the urad dal, bengal gram, red chilies, asafoetida and curry leaves. Saute for a minute until the dal turns golden brown.
Lower heat to a medium flame, add the lemon juice mix (lemon juice,turmeric powder and salt) give a quick stir and add the rice string hopper. Mix well and cook for 1 min and Turn off the stove.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or dip.
Tips:
– Use green chillies instead of red chillies for extra spiciness.
– Adjust salt and lemon juice according to your taste.
– Add nuts of your choice like peanuts, cashews etc.
