Description

These biscuits are incredibly fast to prepare, and taste very similar to the biscuits served at a seafood chain!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-free All Purpose Baking Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan Gum
  • 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cups Vegetable Shortening
  • ⅔ cups Milk
  • ½ cups Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • ¼ cups Butter, Melted
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, xanthan, baking powder, salt and shortening. You will have to use your fingers until it all starts lumping together.
3. Add the milk and cheese and stir.
4. Drop the biscuits by the spoonful onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
5. Bake for 10 minutes.
6. Once out of the oven, coat with butter and garlic powder.
7. Pop back in the oven for 2-3 minutes.

These were really good and had lots of flavor. I might add some more cheese to them next time though.
