Description

Sour cream without any dairy.

Ingredients

  • 1 carton (about 16 Oz. Carton) Silk Tofu
  • 5 teaspoons Lemon Juice (fresh Is Better)
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sweetener, Any Kind You Want (optional)

Preparation

Put all ingredients into a food processor or a blender and mix until smooth. Refrigerate.

I didn’t use any sweetener because I want it to be tart like real sour cream. I also used just a pinch of salt. And last I did not make this recipe up. I got it from vegweb.com but wanted to share it on here since it’s so good. And its always nice to have a “good” vegan recipe when you need one.

Oh Ambernz I am sorry. Tofu is something that needs to be played with to get the right taste. I had real sour cream the other day and WOW it was way different. If you come across any other recipes that you like for sour cream please let me know

I’m sorry to be negative, but to me this just tasted like slightly sour tofu. It was OK, but didn’t taste anything like sour cream to me. Perhaps if I’d been vegan a while, and had forgotten what sour cream tastes like, I’d have liked it better? Sorry.
