Description

Two-ingredient, rich, creamy, dairy-free almond sauce is the perfect milk and cream alternative for smoothies and other sweet recipes! Tastes delicious with vanilla and/or almond extract as well as topped with fresh fruit and sprinkled with cinnamon. Use equal parts soaked almonds and water to make a delicious breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almonds
  • 2 cups Water

Preparation

Combine almonds with water in a food processor and blend on high speed for 5–6 minutes.

Pour through strainer or squeeze through a cheese cloth (optional). Refrigerate in wide-mouth glass jar.

Note: Soaking almonds in lukewarm water for several hours prior to blending may help soften them, making it easier to obtain a finer, less gritty texture. Water used in soaking can then be used as the 2 cups of water needed for blending.
