This is sure to be a family pleaser! What’s not to love? Cheese-filled tortellini and lots of veggies!

We first tasted this soup in an Asian restaurant in Southern California. The restaurant had a different name for it but when my wife took her first taste she pronounced it “heavenly”. We developed this recipe from the restaurant’s description of the dish. Do not substitute anise for the star anise, the result will be disappointing.

This soup is hearty with the meatballs, pasta and strands of egg stirred in. This is always a favorite soup in our house and with a little star or alphabet-shaped pasta, the kiddos gobble it up! If you are looking for a more of adult flair, feel free to use any small-shaped pasta. Step-by-step photos are in the related blog post.

Oh, How I love this soup. I use the tortellini that has chicken in it as my husband isn’t crazy about the cheese type. I only wish it would get cold here so I felt like eating it more often. It’s so healthy.

I make something very similar but mine has crumbled italian turkey sausage in it. So yummy!

Oh my was this delicious. I wasn’t so sure it would be sooo good as it was sooo simple! A real keeper, thank you so much. My only change was I used frozen, chopped spinach instead of fresh. The family just loved it 8D

This is my absolute favorite soup. It is a hit every time I make it. I use stewed tomatoes in mine and I cut the chicken broth in half and use water and tomato boullion (sp?) cubes. I love it that other people know this soup too.

We have a local “fast-food” (it’s really not your average fast food, lots of fresh ingredients and great variety) restaurant called BeefaRoo and they have a soup very similar to this and I absolutely love it! Can’t wait to try this out, thanks!
