Description

A flavorful and fragrant cold season dish. Serve over rice for a hearty delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (About 16 Oz.) Smoked Sausage Links Or Loops, In 1/4-inch Slices
  • 1 whole Onion, Diced
  • 1 whole Green Pepper, (or Any Other Color), Large Dice
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • ⅛ cups Flour
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 can (14.5 Oz.) Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 sprigs Fresh Thyme
  • ½ teaspoons Emeril's Original Spice
  • ½ teaspoons Lawry's Seasoning Salt
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Add onion, pepper and sausage to 1 tablespoon oil in a saute pan on medium-high heat. When the veggies and meat start to get some color, add the garlic. Stir and allow to cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the flour, stir to combine; cook for 2 to 3 minutes to get out the flour taste. Add the beef broth, scraping up bits off the bottom to incorporate into sauce. Add tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, thyme and seasonings. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until liquid reduces and creates a thickened sauce.

Serve over rice.

I made this tonight for dinner and we quite enjoyed it. It was nice and hearty and came together quick which I love! The only thing I would do differently next time is maybe use a little more flour as the finished product wasn’t quite as thick as I would of liked it, even after letting it simmer a good 40 minutes. But the taste was delish! My DH gives it a thumbs up too..
