Description

Rice soup with tender salmon balls.

Ingredients

  • ⅞ gallons Boiling Water
  • 10-½ ounces, weight Minced Salmon
  • 1  Egg
  • ⅓ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 1  Large Carrot
  • 2  Medium Potatoes
  • 1  Medium Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Tomato Paste
  • 3  Bay Leaves
  • 1-½ cup Rice (boiled)
  • ⅓ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • Salt To Taste

Preparation

Bring water to a boil in a medium-sized pot.

Put the salmon mince in a medium-sized bowl. Add the egg, a dash of salt and the black pepper. Mix well. Form salmon into walnut-sized balls and send them into the boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes over medium heat.

Meanwhile grate the carrot on a coarse grater and send to the boiling salmon broth. Boil for 5 minutes together with the salmon balls.

Dice the potatoes and send this into the boiling salmon broth and continue boiling the ingredients for 5 minutes more.

Peel the onion and drop the whole thing into the soup. Add another dash of salt, tomato paste and bay leaves and boil for final a 5 minutes.

Remove the soup from the heat and let it sit in the covered pot for 10 minutes. Remove the boiled onion from the soup before serving.

Your soup with salmon balls is ready. Dish some boiled rice into every bowl and serve the soup over the top.

This recipe was terrible! The salmon balls fell apart as soon as they hit the water, and the broth had no flavor.

This recipe was terrible! The salmon balls fell apart as soon as they hit the water, and the broth had no flavor. It was a total waste of salmon.
