Description

Hearty soup with hamburger, carrots, onions, celery, tomatoes, slow cooked and the best darn soup you will ever taste!

Ingredients

  • 1-½ pound Ground Beef
  • 1  Onion, Minced
  • 4  Carrots, Diced
  • 3  Celery Ribs, Thinly Sliced
  • ½ cups Barley
  • 28 ounces, weight Canned Diced Tomatoes
  • 6 cups Beef Stock
  • 1 Tablespoon Beef Base Paste
  • ¾ cups Ketchup
  • 1  Bay Leaf
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Pepper
  • ½ teaspoons Dried Thyme

Preparation

Heat a large soup pot over medium-high heat, and crumble in the ground beef. Cook and stir until the beef is evenly browned and no longer pink.

Stir in onion, carrots, celery, and barley. Pour in diced tomatoes, beef stock, and ketchup. Season with bay leaf, parsley, garlic pepper, thyme, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and cover; simmer for 2 hours, stirring frequently. Remove bay leaf before serving.
