Description

A very easy and delicious recipe for shrimp bisque.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 3 Tablespoons Celery, Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Onion, Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Green Onion, Chopped
  • 2-½ cups Whole Milk
  • ½ whole Potato, Cubed
  • 1 Tablespoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon Pepper
  • 16 ounces, weight Shrimp, Cooked, Shelled And Deveined
  • 3 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Sherry

Preparation

Add butter to a medium sauce pan on medium high heat and melt. Add garlic, celery, onion, and green onion. Saute for a minute or two. Add milk, potatoes, red pepper flakes and pepper. Seasoning can be adjusted to taste. Allow ingredients to come to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and allow bisque to cook for another 10 – 30 minutes. Serve hot.

I made this last night as an experiment, and my husband and I both agreed it tasted great! However, we think we would have died had we used full tablespoons of red pepper flakes and black pepper. A teaspoon (or less) was quite sufficient. High points for ease of preparation and creamy flavorful bisque.
