Description

Ground turkey and white beans are combined with lots of spices and LOTS of cheese to make a delicious, creamy chili!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 whole Small White Onion, Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 cans (14 Oz. Size) Cannellini Beans
  • 2 cans (14.5 Oz. Size) Chicken Broth
  • 1 can (4 Oz. Size) Diced Green Chilies
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Sweet Basil
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 3 cups Monterey Jack/Colby Shredded Cheese
  • 8 ounces, fluid Sour Cream
  • Hot Sauce, To Serve
  • Fritos, For Topping

Preparation

In large soup pot, cook turkey on the stovetop until well done. Remove turkey from the pot, then melt butter and cook onions until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook one more minute.

Add turkey back to the pot, along with beans, chicken broth, chilies, cumin, basil, cayenne pepper, red chili flakes, and chili powder. Simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally.

After an hour, add the cheese and sour cream and heat until melted. Serve with your favorite hot sauce and Fritos! Enjoy!

This was so good! My kids don’t like things too spicy so I omitted the cayenne and just sprinkled some in my own bowl. Really delicious! Easy to make too. Definitely will make again.

Made this for dinner this evening and will definitely repeat in the future–however, the amount of cheese listed ended up being excessive and clumpy in my version. Next time I’ll keep the sour cream but only use cheese for garnish. Also a roasted poblano was a great replacement for canned chillies, and so easy to manage!

I made this for dinner tonight and all 5 children and my husband loved it! I used turkey bits leftover from Thanksgiving instead of the ground turkey and it was fabulous. The flavor was amazing.

OMG best turkey chili ever. Very spicy, but so good. I like it with crushed Ritz crackers.

My 11 year old made this last night, because I am currently in a cast and can’t make meals. It was so good! She enjoys being “head chef” and she trades nights with my 10 year old. Bless her heart, she even made it through chopping the onions because she knows I love them!
