Description

Really the best chicken noodle soup ever. Maybe it is the stick of butter, I don’t know, but this soup is better than anything you can buy!

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 9 cups Chicken Broth
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter
  • ⅓ cups Flour
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 3 whole Carrots, Diced
  • 3 stalks Celery, Diced
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 1 package Frozen Egg Noodles, Home Made Noodles, Or Your Favorite Type Of Noodle, 16 Ounce Package

Preparation

Cook chicken in broth for about 30 minutes over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken and cut into cubes.

In a separate pan melt butter over medium heat and then add flour. Cook for a few minutes to make a rue, and then slowly pour that mixture into the chicken broth. Add the cream of chicken soup, carrots, celery, and chicken into the broth. Add salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until carrots and celery are cooked (or about 15 minutes before you are ready to serve).

Then boil noodles (in a separate pan, according to package instructions). Drain noodles, and add to the soup mixture.

This can be served over mashed potatoes or as plain soup.
