Description

Buttery-cheesy-garlic potato slices.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Baking Potatoes, Scrubbed Clean
  • 1 stick Butter, Melted
  • 2 Tablespoons Minced Garlic
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese (or Other Favorite)

Preparation

Slice potatoes into 1/4 inch slices and place upright in rows in greased 8×8 baking dish.

Pour melted butter over potatoes, coating well. Spoon minced garlic over rows of potatoes.

Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Remove potatoes from oven and discard aluminum foil.

Cover potatoes with cheese and return to oven, baking for 15 minutes.

Enjoy!

Everyone loved these, and they disappeared pretty quickly.

I only have two things though, that I want to say to the contrary of the near perfection of this recipe…. One, it required close to 20 minutes extra baking time for the potatoes to be thoroughly cooked.

Second, this dish absolutely requires bacon! Lol, I’m hoping to make this again in a few days, and I will be adding bacon on top of the cheese. I know it will taste amazing

Yum!

I took redfox’s lead and added some bacon bits with the cheese. Soooo yummy! Mine also took longer to cook – about 20-30 minutes. I’m at 5000ft elevation, though, so this often effects my cooking times a bit.

Will make this one again for sure! Thanks!
