Description

Roasted Brussels sprouts glazed with a soy sesame sauce.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Brussels Sprouts, Shredded
  • 1 cup Onion, Thinly Sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

To prepare Brussels sprouts, cut off stems and remove any outer leaves that have brown spots. Cut Brussels sprouts into thin slices (I tried using my food processor to shred them, but they came out too fine).

Toss Brussels sprouts, onion, soy sauce and sesame oil together in a large bowl. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake 15 minutes, or until tender. Remove from oven and sprinkle balsamic vinegar on top. Toss and serve.

Wow this looks great! We love brussels sprouts and grew them in the garden this year – they last a long time in the refrigerator, so I’m always looking for new ways to prepare them. Thanks for posting this recipe!

I’m not sure if I like brussel sprouts yet, but your picture makes me willing to try!

These were pretty good, I just had a few minor problems with the recipe. The onions and the brussels sprouts cooked unevenly, the onions were still pretty raw at the end of cooking time (although the sprouts were perfect). Next time, I’ll slice the onion finer than those in the picture. I also wasn’t the hugest fan of the combination of flavors in the soy and sprouts. I was out of sesame oil though, so that added flavor may have made me like it a little more. Overall, it was pretty good though :)

I made this for dinner tonight. I loved the flavor. Wonderful!!! I accidently added the balsamic vinegar before I baked it, but it was fine.
