Description

A great addition to the Easter Ham or any holiday meal! From my Mom.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Half-and-half
  • ½ cups Butter (1 Stick)
  • 1 package 27 Oz. Frozen Hash Brown Patties, Thawed
  • ½ teaspoons Salt (up To 1 Tsp.)
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
  • ¾ cups Grated Or Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Preparation

Mix half-and-half and butter in saucepan until hot (or in a glass bowl, in the microwave on high for 3 minutes or so).

Place thawed patties in 7×11 baking dish, 1-2 deep, fitting them all in. Sprinkle with 1/2 to 1 tsp salt and some fresh ground pepper.

Pour hot mixture over patties. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, until browned and bubbly.

These were fantastic! Made these last night with a good marinated flank steak and bacon-wrapped green beans (both also from this site). I only cooked for two, so use a little less than half the patties, about a cup of cream with a dash of milk (I ran out of cream). And a good tablespoon of butter… Yummmmmmm! Give it some time in the oven, even if you’re making half, cuz the crust will get nice and brown.

Delicious! Ate them with ribeye last night and just gobbled them up. Only thing I would change would be to cut back on the butter a little, they were a tad bit greasy. Definitely going into my regular recipe file.

Are you sure we aren’t related? My mother in law makes this exact recipe, but she doesn’t have any daughters. This dish is FANTASTIC…especially the parts around the edges that get browned. Yumm!!
