Description

Potato and Goat Cheese Gratin is easily one of the most decadent and amazing side dishes ever created! It’s full of 3 cheeses, spices, herbs and of course potatoes and cream! What more could you ask for?

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Russet Potatoes, Peeled And Sliced
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 1 sprig Fresh Thyme
  • 3 ounces, weight Goat Cheese
  • 1 cup Monterery Jack Cheese
  • ½ cups Parmesan Cheese
  • 1-½ cup Heavy Cream
  • Salt And Pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place a layer of potatoes in an overlapping pattern and season with salt and pepper, a touch of nutmeg and a sprinkle of chopped garlic and fresh thyme. Sprinkle the top with a little salt and pepper and sprinkle some goat cheese, jack and Parmesan on top. Pour some of the cream on top of this layer. Repeat these steps 3 more times to have a total of 4 layers. Top with some grated Parmesan. Bake, uncovered, for 50 minutes.

Gaby, I love Gratin Potatoes…and the addition of goat cheese to these just puts them way over the top. Can’t wait to try these out.

It definitely took me longer than 10 minutes to prep, but that could be because I shredded all of the cheeses myself. I think it took me about 25 minutes to prep since I also cut the potatoes by hand, but this was divine! I loved it!

I made these this past weekend and they were rich and cheesy. You may think there is not a lot of cheese in this, but it is perfect. The leftovers were very good reheated in the microwave, too. This is in the “share with friends” category for me. The goat cheese adds a nice tanginess to the overall dish.
