Description

A family favorite that even young kids can make!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Margarine
  • 2 cups Uncooked Jasmine Rice
  • 1 can (10.5 Oz. Can) French Onion Soup
  • 1 can (10.5 Oz. Can) Beef Consomme Soup
  • 1-½ can Water (Use The Soup Can Or Consomme Can To Measure)
  • Black Pepper And Salt To Taste

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. While oven is heating up, cut margarine into pieces and place into a 13 x 9 baking dish.

Place baking dish into the oven and allow the margarine to melt and become a little brown.

After margarine has melted, place rice into the baking dish and coat with the melted margarine. Place into the oven and allow rice to toast slightly. A light bown color on some of the rice is what you want to see.

After rice is lightly toasted, add the can of French onion soup, beef consomme and water. Mix well.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and baked covered for approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes. Start checking at the 1 hour mark to make sure rice is soft and liquid has been absorbed.

Uncover rice and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Serve as a side dish. This is a family favorite at the holidays and is always requested.

Love this. So easy and so delicious. You can also just use broth. Sometimes I use a combo of chicken and beef broth. I have also used broth and dry french onion soup mix if I didn’t have the soup. It’s so good!
