Description

A simple but delicious pilaf recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 cup Orzo Pasta, Uncooked
  • 1 cup Onions, Diced
  • 5 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth Or Vegetable Broth
  • 1 cup Rice, Uncooked
  • 1 package (6 Oz. Package) Crimini Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 1 stalk Green Onion For Garnish (optional)
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

1. Melt butter in a deep pan or a wok on medium heat. Sauté the uncooked pasta in the butter until golden brown. Mix in onion and garlic, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

2. Add broth and rice. Change temperature to high to bring the mixture to a boil. When the mixture is boiling, reduce to medium-low heat and cover. Let simmer until rice is cooked, about 20-30 minutes.

3. While rice is cooking, sauté the crimini mushrooms and green onions in another pan. Add salt and pepper to taste. When the rice is done, fluff with a fork, then mix the mushroom mixture into the pilaf mixture. Optionally garnish with additional green onions.

Enjoy!

Looks—and sounds—delicious! The ingredient list is missing the green onions though. Could you please add that in? Thanks!
