Description

Fresh green beans sauteed with bacon, onion, garlic and almonds. You’ll never eat plain green beans again!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Fresh Green Beans Or 1 Large Package Frozen Whole Petite Green Beans
  • ½ cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ½ whole Medium Onion, Chopped Fine
  • ¼ cups Real Bacon Bits
  • ¼ cups Shaved Almonds
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Chopped Fine
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper

Preparation

Pour water and green beans in a large frying pan. Bring to a boil and put a lid on the pan. Turn heat down to medium-low and steam for about 4 minutes. Remove lid and let water steam out.

Add 2 tablespoons olive oil and add the onion, bacon and almonds. Stir often for about 3 minutes, then add the garlic. Season with salt and pepper and stir for another minute and transfer to a serving dish!

This was a good recipe. I didn’t have bacon bits, or even bacon on hand so I made this without the bacon and it was still great. (Even though bacon makes everything better)

This was very yummy. I didnt have any onions on hand so I used onion powder and that gave it just a touch of onion flavor. Probably good either way… with or without. I will definately be making this again. How can you go wrong with bacon in a recipe!!

These were easy and so scrumptious! It took me a few more minutes to do each step than the recipe states, but I eventually got there. I’ll add more heat next time. Mm Mm MMM!

I loved these, but with picky eaters I had quite a few left over. Next time I’m going to cut the recipe in 1/2. Thanks for a great alternative to an old favorite!

Thank you so much for posting this simple recipe! I bought the HEB Select Frozen Thin Green Beans (Haricots Verts) for the first time ever. Boy have I been missing out! These were so yummy. I used real bacon because that’s what I had on hand. But…to speed up an already quick side dish, I’ll try the bacon bits next time. This recipe is easy to do on a busy weeknight, but its also fancy enough for company. This is my new favorite way to cook and eat green beans!
