Description

A simple way to give green beans a boost. Yum!

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Green And/or Yellow Beans, Ends Removed (enough For 4 People)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Diced
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 cups Vegetable Or Chicken Stock

Preparation

1. Fry garlic and beans in butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Add 1 cup of stock to pan and simmer, stirring occasionally, until liquid is evaporated and beans and tender-crisp, about 10 minutes. If beans are still too crisp, add additional stock and simmer. Turn the heat to high to evaporate the liquid quickly if beans are getting too soft.

3. Stir the beans around the pan to coat in the remaining sauce and serve.

Note: this recipe can be made ahead of time and heated just before serving. It works well and I often do that if I’m having company and want one less thing to prepare while the guests are here.

This made such a lovely side. I used half green beans and half asparagus and just one cup of broth.

These were delish! Perfectly flavorful, but no so much as to overwhelm the flavor of the beans! Making them for Christmas dinner!

Awesome recipe! Did this with snow peas and green/yellow beans from the garden. Got lots of compliments! This will be my go-to recipe for beans!

Turned out kind of limp and flavor was very one note (GARLIC). Edible, but won’t make it again.

I made this with half green beans and half asparagus. Just one cup of broth….it was so lovely and buttery! Was my side dish for Seared Chicken Breast with Lemon Herb Pan Sauce posted by Laurie (Simply Scratch). My ZORRO said it was like fine dining! Thanks.

Made this the other night and I loved it! I may cut down to only one cup of broth next time as the beans were really salty and I like them kinda crunchy
