Description

You will love making mashed potatoes when you can do it in the crock pot! Try this one today! They even taste better than traditional mashed potatoes, in my opinion.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Potatoes, Peeled And Diced
  • ¼ cups Water
  • ¼ cups Butter
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ cups Milk

Preparation

Place the potatoes, water and butter into the crock pot. Season with salt, and pepper. Cook on low for 7 hours or on high for up to 4 hours. (You can check on it periodically after 2 or so hours to check for doneness.)

When done cooking, mash potatoes with a masher or an electric beater, adding the desired amount of milk to acheive a creamy consistency. Keep warm on low until serving.

Never thought about mashed potatoes in the crock-pot!!
I’ve done baked potatoes and they come out just like they were baked in the oven. Can’t wait to try these, especially for Sunday morning. Put them in and when we come home from church almost like instant mashed potatoes, but so much better. Thanks for this wonderful idea.

These were really good potatoes! I had wondered before about making them in a crockpot, and I’m glad you shared this recipe. At first I was worried they wouldn’t turn out because they started to turn brown not long after be put in the crockpot. But then they sort of turned a golden color, I had them on high and you know how stuff sticks to the side of the pot when it gets really hot, that’s what happened here, but it gave the potatoes a richer flavor. I had to add a lot more milk than you stated in the recipe but that might be due to having really starchy potatoes. I plan on making this again on Sunday for a church potluck.
