Description

For those who want to try something a little different than just steaming your Brussels sprouts.

Ingredients

  • 15 pieces Brussels Sprouts
  • 8 slices Bacon, Cut Up
  • ¼ cups Pine Nuts
  • ⅓ cups Heavy Cream
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Shred Brussels sprouts (I use my food processor). Fry cut up bacon and remove from the pan. Toast pine nuts in bacon fat and remove with a slotted spoon.

Fry sprouts in bacon fat until soft. Add bacon and pine nuts and add a few splashes of whipping cream. Salt and pepper to taste.

Heat and serve.

Yum. I used about a pound of Brussel sprouts and no pine nutes (I didn’t have any). This was delicious!

Wow! These are delicious. The cream and the bacon make this real comfort food for me. I love that combination with the brussels sprouts. The texture was good but I think next time I’d slice the sprouts instead of shredding them. I can’t wait to share these with my dad since we are the only sprout eaters in our family, although I got my 10 yo son to admit “they aren’t bad” with this recipe!
