Description

Artichokes boiled in lemon, celery, garlic, and bay leaves!

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Artichokes
  • 8 cups Water, Or Enough To Cover The Artichokes And Other Ingredients
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Smashed
  • 2 whole Lemons, Halved, And Juice Squeezed Out Of Halves
  • 2 stalks Celery, Large, Chopped
  • 3 sprigs Bay Leaves
  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Preparation

Prepare a large pot of water and add all of the ingredients except the artichokes. Add the lemon juice and the lemon halves.

Trim the artichoke stems and leaves, and cut the tops off so the flavor can reach the inside. Add artichokes to the pot of water. Bring water to a boil and boil for 45 minutes until the artichokes are tender. Enjoy!

I never have salted my water, but I think I will try that next time I make them! I absolutely love artichokes!

I bet these are delicious! I boil mine in well salted, lemon infused water. Might have to give your recipe a try!

I used to just steam my artichokes. I’m going to be making them this way from now on.
