Description

Baked beans with a Southwestern kick. The perfect side with grilled hotdogs. You can certainly mess around with the amounts of the ingredients to suit your taste. This is what I came up with that the whole family likes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 whole Small, Sweet Onion, Chopped
  • 2 cans (28 Oz. Can) Baked Beans (I Use Bush's Original)
  • 8 ounces, weight Chunky Picante Sauce. I Use Pace
  • ½ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Prepared Mustard
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F.

Place the ground beef and chopped onion into a frying pan and stir together until browned and all the pink disappears. Drain well.

Pour the ground beef mixture into a 13×9 casserole dish. Drain the cans of baked beans and pour them into the dish. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well combined.

Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes. It should be hot and bubbly. Serve while hot right next to your hotdogs, sausages, or even hamburgers. You’re just having hamburger with your burger. Enjoy.
