Description

The addition of bacon and sausage gives these colorful beans a flavor that is out of this world. Hearty enough as an entree, but great as a side dish, too. I dare you to have leftovers!

Ingredients

  • 6 strips Thick Sliced Bacon
  • ½ pounds Pork Sausage
  • 1 whole Yellow Onion, Chopped
  • 2 whole Jalapenos Seeded And Chopped
  • 16 ounces, weight Canned Pork And Beans
  • 15 ounces, weight Canned Ranch Style Beans
  • 15 ounces, weight Canned Black Beans
  • 15 ounces, weight Canned Butter Beans
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • ¼ cups Salsa Or Picante Sauce
  • ½ cups Head Country BBQ Sauce, Or Your Preferred Brand
  • 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, Chopped
  • 1 whole Red Bell Pepper, chopped

Preparation

1. Brown bacon and sausage in an oven-safe pot with onions and jalapenos.

2. Mix in remaining ingredients (except bell peppers), bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

3. Stir in bell peppers and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1.5 hours, then cover and bake at 275 degrees for 2 hours.
