Description

This baked bean recipe is rumored to be from none other than Mr. Alan Jackson. I don’t know if that’s true, but I like to think it is. Whatever it’s source, this recipe makes a great addition to any barbeque.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (20 Oz. Can) Pork & Beans
  • 1 can (16 Oz. Can) Pork & Beans
  • 1 whole Large Onion, Diced
  • 1-¼ cup Brown Sugar (lightly Packed)
  • 1-½ teaspoon Prepared Mustard
  • 1-½ teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¾ cups Ketchup
  • 6 slices Bacon, Cut In Half

Preparation

Empty one 20 oz. can and one 16 oz. can of pork and beans into the bottom of a greased 9×13″ casserole dish.

Combine onion, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle this mixture over the beans.

Top with the remaining 20 oz. can of pork & beans. Spread with ketchup and top with the halved bacon slices.

Bake uncovered at 325F for 1- 1 1/2 hours or until bacon is done.

I actually have a recipe book of his and this is close, really pretty close, but not the same. Sounds good nonetheless. Thanks for sharing.
