Description

I got this recipe from my Estonian grandmother. It’s delicious and very easy to make. Great on its own or in a sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Water-packed Tuna (6.5 Oz)
  • ½ cups Shredded Carrots
  • ⅓ cups Mayonnaise (I Use Low-fat)
  • ¼ cups Thinly Sliced Green Onion
  • ¼ cups Raisins
  • ¼ cups Chopped Walnuts
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Coriander
  • ¼ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ⅛ teaspoons Nutmeg

Preparation

In a large bowl, gently mix tuna, carrots, mayo, and onions.

In a small bowl, mix raisins and walnuts together to unstick raisins from each other. Add raisins and walnuts to tuna mixture.

Add coriander, garlic powder, and nutmeg. Stir to combine.

Good immediately, but better if it sits for 30-60 minutes.

Easy to double, triple, or whatever!

Wanted to switch up my tuna salad recipe a bit & this sounded interesting. I cut out the carrots b/c I didn’t have any on hand, and subbed dry cranberries for the raisins & it was delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe! :)

Loved this tuna salad. The spices were a perfect balance for the sweet raisins, and I loved the added cruch of the walnuts.
