Description

The Gorgonzola Apple Steak Salad features steak, apples, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts and dried cranberries mix together for this sweet and savory salad. The ingredients complement each other so you don’t get too much sweetness from the fruit or bite from the cheese. This flank steak is juicy and tender after using a mixture of spices, and the balsamic vinaigrette ties it all together for a fresh, filling salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 teaspoon McCormic Grillmates Brown Sugar Bourbon Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Greek Seasoning
  • 1 whole Flank Steak
  • 5 cups Mixed Greens
  • ¼ cups Dried Cranberries
  • 2 whole Small Apples, Sliced Thinly
  • ¼ cups Walnuts, Chopped
  • ⅓ cups Gorgonzola Cheese, Crumbled
  • 2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Preparation

Preheat a grill pan on medium heat. In a small bowl, mix together garlic salt, seasoning, and Greek seasoning. Rub mixture on each side of the steak. Place steak in the hot pan, cooking 5–10 minutes each side depending on your preference (mine was 8 each side because I like mine medium-well, with an emphasis on well).

While steak is cooking, gather greens, cranberries, apples, and gorgonzola, and walnuts in a large bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic and the olive oil for the salad dressing.

Once steak is done, place it on a plate and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Slice steak against the grain and add to the salad. Dress lightly and serve.

Made this for dinner tonight and really enjoyed it. I used a red wine vinaigrette dressing that I always have on hand instead of just balsamic and oil. It was delicious. Loved all the components together.
