Description

This is another great potluck dish; my husband who dislikes eating vegetables loves this. Sunflower seeds and cheese make it a bit different.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chopped Broccoli
  • 8 slices Bacon, Cooked Crisp, Drained And Chopped
  • ½ cups Raisins
  • ½ whole Small Red Onion, Chopped Fine
  • ¾ cups Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Vinegar
  • ½ cups Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • ½ cups Sunflower Seeds

Preparation

Cook broccoli in a small amount of lightly salted boiling water for 5 to 7 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and let cool.

Meanwhile, fry the bacon until crisp, drain the grease off and chop into small pieces.

In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, bacon, raisins and red onion.

In a small bowl, stir together the mayo, sugar and vinegar until well mixed.

Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture, tossing the vegetables to coat them.

Cover and chill for 2 to 24 hours. Just before serving, add cheese and sunflower seeds. Stir.

This is so good! My grandma makes this same recipe, and I cannot get enough, it’s broccoli right, so it’s good for me

Very tasty! I made it today for a baby shower! I liked how the veggies were cooked a little. I think I did mine about three minutes. Thanks for posting this recipe.
