Description

A favorite at potlucks!! Broccoli, dressing, bacon and sunflower seeds. Yummy.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Broccoli
  • 15 strips Bacon Crumbled
  • 1 cup White Raisins
  • 1 cup Shelled Sunflower Seeds
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise (or Plain Yogurt)
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons White Vinegar

Preparation

Dice washed, drained broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Cook bacon and crumble. Dice red onion (whatever size you wish). Combine crumbled bacon, diced onion, chopped broccoli, raisins and sunflower seeds in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar. Refrigerate salad and dressing separately. Combine just prior to serving so salad will maintain its crispness. Eat and enjoy!!

Mmmm…I’m eating this salad right now as I type this and it’s sooo good. I decided at the last minute to omit the red onion, however, for I feared it would overpower it–plus I liked the taste of it without it. I also used Hormel’s “real bacon pieces” (picnic bacon) to speed things up cause I’m impatient, lol. Anyway, nom nom nom [chewing]…it’s nummy.

I always end up coming back to this recipe. Reminds me of an old-fashioned church potluck-type offering [say that five times fast, heh]. Anyway, it is SUPER tasty, super easy, and super healthy. An all-around great go-to side/snack recipe! Wouldn’t change a thing about it :)
