Description

As we all know, pasta is on the no-no list when you’re trying to lose weight. I tried whole wheat pasta and it’s … okay. But it still had more calories than I wanted to spend on the carb portion of my meal. My trainer suggested I get a vegetable spiralizer and make zoodles!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 5-½ teaspoons Poultry Seasoning
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Crushed
  • 1 can (29 Oz Size) Tomato Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste
  • 4  Medium Zucchini (or 5 Small)

Preparation

Put ground turkey in a pan and season with poultry seasoning. Cook over medium heat until turkey is browned.

Once browned, add garlic and lower heat to low. Add tomato sauce, onion powder, crushed red pepper and basil. Stir. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and let simmer on low for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While cooking, spiralize the zucchini. Once sauce has cooked for 20 minutes, stir well, then add zoodles. Combine and cook for 2 minutes then remove from the heat.
