Description

Homemade turkey potpie is a perfect way to show your family you love them. No, I’m serious, it’s a simple and delicious recipe that is full of good stuff. Vegetables are in there, lots of ‘em. They are all nestled inside a double blanket of a flaky pie crust with chunks of turkey and a light gravy.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 whole Carrots, Chopped
  • 3 stalks Celery, Chopped
  • 1 whole Onion, Medium, Chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sweet Peas, Drained
  • 1 cup White Wine Or Stock
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Cooked Turkey, Chopped
  • 2 whole Pie Crusts
  • 1 whole Eggs, Lightly Beaten

Preparation

1. Melt butter in medium stockpot. Cook carrots, celery, onion and garlic until tender. Add sweet peas, wine or stock, pepper, and onion. Simmer. Add salt and pepper.

2. Mix in chopped turkey. Put your first pie crust in a pie dish. Pour the turkey mixture into pie crust. Top with second pie crust. Brush top crust with lightly beaten egg.

3. Bake in 350 degree (F) oven until lightly browned, approximately 30 minutes.

Enjoy!
