Description

Here is a family favourite that the kids will want to help make! Everyone can add their own favourite ingredients but most often kids big and small will pack them with turkey, cheese and pizza sauce. Serve them up with a little extra pizza sauce to dip each bite into. These are also great to pack for lunch the next day.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Canola Oil
  • 2 cups Sliced Mushrooms
  • ½ cups Chopped Green Bell Pepper
  • ½ cups Chopped Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 cups Chopped Cooked Turkey
  • 7-½ ounces, fluid Pizza Sauce
  • 24 ounces, weight Store Bought Pizza Dough
  • 1-½ cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Add mushrooms, green and red peppers and cook for about 8 minutes or until mushrooms are golden and peppers are tender crisp. Set pan aside to cool.

In a bowl, stir together the cooked turkey and pizza sauce; set aside.

On a lightly floured work surface, cut dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each piece into about a 6- to 8-inch (15 to 22 cm) circle.

Divide turkey mixture evenly onto one half of each of the dough pieces. Top each with a fourth of the vegetable mixture and then sprinkle with cheese. Fold the empty half of the dough over the top of the fillings and press edges to seal together.

Place panzarotti onto a large parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake in preheated 425°F (220°C) oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
