Does it count if I had to modify this a bit with what we had? :) We had already-cooked chicken breast from Trader Joe's, so I sliced that up really thin and used that instead of turkey (which I'm sure would also have been delicious). Also, didn't have any apple butter so I spread a very thin layer of bbq sauce on one side of the bread, next to the apples. I sliced the apples SUPER thin, then had them next to the chicken, then the cheese. Nothing on the other side of the bread. And I used "fresh buttery taste" spread on the outsides of the bread for frying. Except for the little pieces of chicken falling out of the sandwich into my skillet, this held together well and the flavors were AMAZING. I never would've thought to put apple in a sandwich like this, which is why, even though I modified it so much, I have to credit this recipe for our delicious meal last night. LOVED it and will definitely be making it again!

I grilled these and used the tea kettle filled with water to press it down. I also used the apple butter but I'm sure the other options would be just as delicious. Easy and elegant sandwich!

I made this sandwich with leftover Thanksgiving turkey, and I used cheddar cheese instead of brie. It was delicious!

These were very easy and very YUMMY! I used the cranberry sauce and omitted the mayo all together (we aren't huge mayo fans!) and they were quite tasty! Definitely an easy to make, fall recipe. I served it with soup which was nice to have a different sandwich other than regular ol' grilled cheese! Thanks for sharing!
