Description

A quick and delicious fish dinner. Great for these last Lenten Fridays.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole Tilapia Fillets (large Or 6 Smaller Ones)
  • ½ teaspoons Thyme
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¾ cups Chicken Or Vegetable Broth
  • 8 ounces, weight Mushrooms, Thinly Sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard

Preparation

Season the fish with thyme, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute on each side. Add broth to the pan (or you could use white wine, too) and bring to a boil.

Add mushrooms, cream and mustard. Simmer until thickened. Enjoy!

I serve this with brown rice or couscous and asparagus.

What stove temperature do you cook these on?? Also, do you use butter or oil in the pan when you first cook them?

This is absolutely fantastic. I’m trying to get my boyfriend to eat more fish and this did the trick. It’s got a great flavor and is so easy to whip up! I made it with asparagus and poured the mustard cream sauce over the veggies in place of the butter we normally use. To be honest, I plan to try this with thin sliced chicken breasts for the boyfriend’s sake, but I thought it went perfectly with the tilapia!

Awesome! I am always looking for new recipes to try with fish, and this one definitely passed the test. I skipped the mushrooms because the hubby will not touch them. But it was still great! Quick and easy too. This will definitely be added to my regular rotation.

This was very good and very easy to make. I used a little bit of olive oil to brown the fish, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I served it with “white” spaghetti, which is just olive and garlic spaghetti. Thanks for sharing will definitely make again.

This is amazing! I love the sauce. All the flavors combined were so perfect. I made it without the mushrooms because I didn’t have any on hand. Next time I’ll definately be including them and am excited to see how it tastes then!

I made this with fish the first time and LOVED it. Unfortunately, my boyfriend hates fish so I modified the recipe to use chicken breast instead. Either way, the sauce is amazing, the mushrooms are to die for and the entire mixture is just plain fantastic!
