This really is the best lasagna, ever! I have never been a big fan, but my family is, and we all loved it!!

From reading the recipe I could tell this wasn’t going to be traditional lasagna, but I thought with all the great reviews on the blog that I’d try it anyway and see what the fuss was about. Sorry to say nobody really cared for it. First, as I mentioned, it wasn’t traditional lasagna; there wasn’t enough cheese and the sauce wasn’t very saucy, but I was expecting that from reading the recipe. We all felt there was too much meat and 2/3 of it got scraped off to the side on everyone’s plate. The overall flavor didn’t wow me either and some felt it was too salty. We threw out the leftovers because nobody wanted to have it again. It wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t good enough to eat twice. Sorry.

Everyone I make this for thinks I am amazing. It is so easy and so good. The breakfast sausage gives it such great flavor and even using the hot my 3 year old gobbles it up. Love this.

Make this for family gatherings and always gets raves reviews. Everyone loves it and I always direct them to your site for the recipe.

This was good, but I agree with jocookie that it was a little salty and a little too meaty. We all love meat here in the house, but it was just a little much. I think I would leave out the salt. The sausage probably has enough in it.

Consistently good and E-Z! I prefer when the lasagna is firm and stays together without sliding all over the plate, and this one definitely fits the bill.

It really is THE best lasagna! (I agree that it is too salty, but that’s an easy fix…nothing worth complaining about!)

My husband and I loved this! I loved the flavor the sausage added. I’ve already decided that I’ll be making this for the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving meal for my folks!

If you love a good, meaty lasagna-this is the one!!! Most lasagnas have too much sauce and cheese and not enough meat (IMO)…so this one is PERFECT! I split the recipe up into 2-8×8 pans and freeze one for later.

My hands down, favorite lasagna recipe ever. I have made this both as described and with gluten free lasagna noodles. You can’t tell the difference at all between the regular and gluten free versions. This is a great recipe to transition to gluten free noodles as it takes awhile to get used to the taste!

This is definitely an outstanding recipe. Some lasagna recipes are too soupy, but this one is just right! Delicious!

Finally got to making this. I didn’t add oil to the pasta water, but did add salt. It was super Reelish! (dee lish).
Mine turned out very moist and juicy. My husband loved the breakfast sausage… me? Not so much. Won’t be using it next time as I plan to use Italian sausage next time with the hamburger. My son said it was the best I’ve ever made. Thanks Ree. Now my lifetime search for lasagna perfection is over.

I must say, I have had some good lasagna before, but this blows all others out of the water! My oldest honyonk loves this lasagna! And he is one picky eater.
Thanks again Ree!

I made this tonight for my husband and my two nieces. My husband, who never has seconds, hoovered a second helping. My nieces, 7 and 9, ate every bite of an adult size portion. We can’t wait to polish off the leftovers for dinner tomorrow and for our “brown bag” lunches on Monday.
Thank you, Ree!

Definately the best lasagna ever! I have never ever been able to make lasagna, it usually goes straight to the garbadge it is that bad. My husband made this a few weeks ago and added way to much parsley. Still good though. I made it last night and it was heavenly!! Can’t wait for leftovers tonight, I know it will be even better. Thanks for all these great recipes and photos Ree, I am finally learning to cook good. It is great to hear my husband say he loves a meal and that it is really Good!

Your most requested recipe by my fiance’s family. I did make one change- and that was to use canned diced tomatoes instead of canned whole tomatoes. They were just too chunky and big for me, and I ended up having to chop them down before assembling the lasagna. Other than that it’s a crowd pleaser! Definitely the best lasagna I’ve ever had. Thank you for this

The most important instruction for the meat is missing from the recipe. After adding the tomatoes, it should simmer for 45 minutes. It’s in Ree’s blog post with the pictures, but not in the printable recipe at the end and not here.

I made this last night and it was fabulous. Thanks for sharing!

Ah, I see it has been corrected. That’s good.
