Description

This is my new favorite tuna salad recipe. It tastes just as good cold as it is as a tuna melt sandwich!

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces, weight Solid White Albacore Tuna
  • 3 Tablespoons Onion, Chopped, To Taste
  • 3 Tablespoons Celery, Sliced
  • 3 Tablespoons Carrot, Chopped Or Shredded
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Mayonnaise
  • 1-½ teaspoon Coarse Dijon Mustard (The Coarser It Is, The Spicier It Will Be)
  • 1 whole Tomato, Sliced And Seeded
  • 2 slices Spicy Pepper Jack Cheese
  • Arnold Select Buns, Or Your Choice Of Sandwich Buns

Preparation

Drain tuna.

In a bowl, mix tuna, equal parts onion, celery and carrot, then the mayonnaise and mustard.

Toast the Arnold Select buns and lay them out on a foil-covered cookie sheet. Slice the tomato and place desired amounts on one half of each bun; cover with pepper jack cheese.

Place half of the tuna salad on the other two bun halves. Broil until cheese is melted.

Put sandwich together and enjoy!

I’m usually a little bit wary of salad anything sandwiches. A lot of them just don’t taste all that good to me. Today, however, I got a wild hair and decided I wanted to give one a go. I had everything I needed for this recipe (which never usually happens), so I mixed it up (sans carrots) and gave it a try. I really like it! It’s easy to make, I usually have all of the ingredients around (even if it’s not the exact ingredient, like the rolls) and it’s quite tasty.
