Description

An easy way to have tamales!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Cornmeal
  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • 1 whole Egg, Beaten
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 whole Onion, Diced
  • ½ packages (1 Oz. Packet) Chili Seasoning Mix
  • 1 can (14.5 Oz. Can) Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Corn
  • 2 Tablespoons Diced Pitted Olives
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray a 2 1/2-qt casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Mix cornmeal and milk and egg in the 2 1/2-qt casserole dish.

Brown meat and onion in a skillet, stirring to keep it crumbly. Add chili seasoning mix, tomatoes, corn, and olives and stir well.

Pour over the cornmeal mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Sprinkle the cheese over the top for the last 5 minutes.
