Description

In the words of my 2 teenagers, “This pizza rocks! Much better than Pizza Hut!”

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 package (about 1 Oz. Packet) Taco Seasoning
  • ¾ cups Water
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz. Size) Tomato Soup
  • ½ cups Diced Onion
  • ⅓ cups Jalapeno, or more to taste
  • 1 whole Pizza Crust (See Note)
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 4 cups Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 whole Tomato, Diced
  • 1 cup Shredded Taco Cheese
  • 1 cup Crushed Tortilla Chips

Preparation

Note: For the crust I use Ree’s pizza crust recipe but you can use your favorite homemade or store bought. Ree’s pizza crust recipe makes 2 pizzas. The ingredients listed are the amounts for one pizza. There is enough sauce for 2 pizzas though!

Brown the ground beef and add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until liquid is absorbed. For the sauce, in a blender, combine tomato soup, onion and jalapeno. Blend until smooth.(Since I use Ree’s pizza crust recipe, I bake the crust at 500ºF for about 8 minutes before I put the toppings on. This makes for a crispier crust. Follow the directions for the crust you choose to use.)

Spread sauce on pizza. Top with taco meat and mozzarella cheese. Reduce oven temperature to 400ºF and bake for 8–12 minutes. Top pizza with shredded lettuce, tomato, taco cheese, and tortilla chips. Serve with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, cilantro, or whatever you like!
