Description

Homemade taco pizza made the right way—delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 envelope Yeast
  • 1-½ cup Water
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 cups Flour, Divided
  • 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • 1 bunch Cornmeal
  • 1 can Refried Beans
  • 1 can Black Olives
  • 1 pound Hamburger Meat Cooked To Make Taco Meat
  • 4 cups Cheese (your Favorite)
  • 3 cups Lettuce
  • 1 bag Doritos

Preparation

Let the yeast dissolve in the water in your stand mixer bowl. Once it is dissolved, add salt and 2 cups of the flour and then turn on mixer with the dough hook and wait until well combined. I add the olive oil while it is mixing. Once it is combined but still sticking to the bottom, I add the next cup of flour a half cup at a time. If it is still super sticky, I add more flour. Once it is kneading, let it knead for about 2 minutes. Put it in a greased bowl and let it sit for an hour. (If you are in a hurry, turn the oven to low, then shut it off and leave the dough in there to help it rise faster.)

While that is rising, cook the meat. (Sometimes I will warm the beans and add hot sauce to make it a little smoother to add on to the dough.)

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

When the dough is ready, sprinkle the cornmeal on a baking stone or pan. Spread dough on, making it the as thick or as thin as you want. Once it’s ready, top with the refried beans, then taco meat, then black olives, and finally the cheese.

Bake for about 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is nice and cooked.

Once it has cooled, cut into pieces and add lettuce and Doritos as each piece is served, unless it’s eaten all in one serving (reheating will wilt the lettuce).

Thanks! Enjoy!
