Description

Sweet & Smoky Mustard Pulled Chicken is the perfect blend of flavours to make an unforgettable southern style pulled chicken sandwich. This recipe is a keeper!

Ingredients

  • 6  Chicken Breasts
  • ⅔ cups Prepared Mustard
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • ⅛ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter

Preparation

Place chicken breasts in a crockpot and turn on.

In a saucepan, combine mustard, sugars, chili powder, black pepper, liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Remove from heat and add soy sauce and butter. Whisk together until smooth.

Pour 3/4 of the sauce over the chicken and cook on low 8–10 hours or on high for 3–4 hours.

Shred chicken using fork and add remaining sauce. Serve on kaiser bun with cheddar cheese and crispy onions.

Note: I used Frozen Chicken Breasts – and as a result had to remove 2 cups of liquid with a turkey baster. After eating, I added 1/2 Cup of this liquid back to meat before storing the rest in the refrigerator. Next time, I would double the sauce recipe – so I could pour off the liquid from cooking and still have enough to add back to the meat and make it saucy.

Very good! Very easy! Tasty! Will make again. Loved it with fried onions and cheese.
