Description

Sesame oil makes this recipe taste so good!

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Vinegar
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 pound Cubed Pork Or Stir-fry Strips
  • ½ whole Onion, Sliced
  • 1 whole Red Pepper, Roughly Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 2 teaspoons Chicken Bouillon
  • ½ cups Cashews
  • 1-½ cup Snow Peas

Preparation

Stir together the soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, and brown sugar. Add the pork and marinate for approximately 30 minutes. Heat a frying pan or wok on medium heat. Use a tablespoon of oil in the pan, and transfer the pork to the pan with a slotted spoon, reserving the leftover marinade. Stir-fry until done, 5–10 minutes, adding the onion and pepper at some point. I like to add the onion when the pork is about half-done, and the red pepper right at the end so it doesn’t get overdone. Meanwhile, stir together the cornstarch, water, and chicken bouillon. Add both the cornstarch mixture and the remaining marinade to the pan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the cashews and snow peas. Serve over hot cooked rice.

This was really good! I doubled the amount of sauce so we’d have plenty of sauce for over our rice. I think I’d add some red pepper flakes for a bit of heat to offset the sweetness of the sauce, but the family loved it!

This was easy and the family loved it. And you can throw in whatever veggies you want!
