Description

Super ribs for any night of the week. Easy preparation. Put them in the oven and relax!

Ingredients

  • 1 rack Ribs Pork Or Beef
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Preparation

Mix all ingredients well in a bowl. Cover the ribs with the rub on both sides. Wrap tightly in foil and place in a 400-degree oven and bake for 30 minutes. Cut a slit in the top of the foil and smear with your favorite BBQ sauce (mine is Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce!). Bake for another 7 minutes. Let the rib rest for about 10 minutes before cutting! These ribs are guaranteed to be a family favorite.

I actually used beef spare ribs and slow cooked the ribs according to the packaging directions. 2 hours at 335 degrees, then added the sauce and cooked about 15 minutes longer. These ribs were so delicious! Best I’ve ever had/made!

These look amazing!! However, am I reading this right, only 40 minutes total cook time? Seems like they wouldn’t be done and would be very chewy. I want to make these, but had to ask about the time just be on the safe side. Thanks much, and I love your recipes!

We love Sweet Baby Ray’s as well, but Trader Joe’s Kansas City BBQ sauce is AHHHMAZING!

these were delicious and super easy. As per other reviewer’s suggestions, I did bake longer, 325 for 2 1/2 hours, then 15 min on the grill. Loved the little bit of heat.

EXCELLENT! An easy & delicious rub! I used a gourmet BBQ sauce I purchased at a farmer’s market in Sherwood, OR. It was fantastic.

The taste was good, but the cook times for me are way off. If I try it again I will definitely cook much longer.

Very yummy! I had to cook my ribs a lot longer though. Maybe a bigger rack??? It doesn’t matter though, they were worth the wait!

Love Sweet Baby Ray’s!

This was a sweet (and savory) success in my home. I did them for 4 hours in a 250* oven, to ensure falling of the bone tenderness. I also finished them on my grill for a few minutes to get some crispy, crunchy carmelization of sugars. I was worried about spicyness the red pepper (flakes? Thats what I used,) but even the 4 y.o. DD went back for seconds. DH was worried, at first, when I navigated away from his, truly wonderful, tried and ture ribs recipe. Which calls for braising and basting every 20 mins for 4 hours. Last night I needed some thing easy and it was! Sick it in the oven and forget it for 4 hours! Not that you could forget it, with all those yummy smells wafting in the air. All 4 crititcs were satisfied with this dish. DS 8, DD4, DH and myself. We are all hard to impress, each in our own right, but as a family unit, nearly impossible. I will use this recipe and cooking technique in the future and will have fun adapting the spice rub as well.
